Back to the Future: The Ride at Universal Studios Japan will be forever closed on May 31, 2016. It is the last Back to the Future ride in existence and its closure gives me a new mission in life: to go to Japan and ride it as many times as I can before its departure. I encourage all of you to do the same.
The rides in both Florida and California closed in 2007, breaking the hearts of everyone everywhere. It stayed popular until the end, maintaining a wait time of about 1h21m. The same is true in Japan, which is why I recommend buying an Express pass when you visit.
When you go, be sure it doesn’t conflict with your schedules at MegaCon in Orlando, which Christopher Lloyd is attending and takes place May 26-29.
You may be wondering how I can have a “life mission” when the deadline is within two months. Here I’ll remind new readers that if one of your life missions is to discover time travel, you can make life missions with imminent deadlines, or even deadlines in the past, and still take as much time as you want to accomplish them. Basically, if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.Stay up to date with current happenings in the future and past:
